يواصل مهرجان القاهرة الدولي للمسرح التجريبي، برئاسة البروفيسور الدكتور سامح مهران، الكشف عن برنامجه التدريبي للدورة الثالثة والثلاثين، معلنا فتح باب المشاركة في ورشة "من النص إلى الممثل" التي يقدمها الكاتب والمخرج الكويتي الكبير سليمان البسام، أحد أبرز الأسماء العربية في المسرح المعاصر، وذلك في إطار حرص المهرجان على إتاحة فرص تدريبية تجمع بين الفكر والممارسة، وتفتح آفاقا جديدة أمام المشتغلين بالمسرح.
وتقام الورشة على مدار ثلاثة أيام، وتركز على العلاقة بين الكتابة والإخراج بوصفهما فعلا إبداعيا واحدا في صناعة العرض المسرحي، حيث تنطلق من تجربة البسام الممتدة في إعادة قراءة النصوص الكلاسيكية وتقديمها في سياقات معاصرة، وصولا إلى فهم الكيفية التي ينتقل بها النص من الصفحة إلى خشبة المسرح، ويتحول إلى لغة حية تتجسد عبر الصورة، والإيقاع، وأداء الممثل.
وتتناول الورشة عددا من المحاور التطبيقية، من بينها تحليل النصوص، وإعادة بنائها مسرحيا، وآليات قيادة الممثل، وصناعة الإيقاع الجماعي، وتطوير أدوات تحويل النص الكلاسيكي إلى عرض معاصر قادر على مخاطبة جمهور متعدد الثقافات والخلفيات.
كما تسلط الضوء على إحدى السمات الأساسية في تجربة سليمان البسام، والمتمثلة في العمل مع ممثلين ينتمون إلى جنسيات وثقافات ولغات مختلفة، وكيفية تحويل هذا التنوع إلى عنصر إبداعي يسهم في بناء رؤية مسرحية مشتركة، ويمنح العرض طاقة جمالية تتجاوز الحدود الجغرافية والثقافية.
وتجمع الورشة بين المحاضرات التطبيقية والتمارين العملية، بما يتيح للمشاركين التعرف عن قرب على المنهج الإبداعي الذي يميز أعمال البسام، والاستفادة من خبرته في المزج بين الكتابة والإخراج، وتحويل النص إلى فعل أدائي متكامل.
وتستهدف الورشة الكتّاب والمخرجين والممثلين المحترفين، وكل من يسعى إلى تطوير أدواته في الكتابة المسرحية والإخراج، ويقتصر عدد المشاركين على 15 متدربا، بما يضمن مستوى مرتفعا من التفاعل والعمل المباشر خلال جلسات التدريب.
ويُعد سليمان البسام من أبرز كتاب ومخرجي المسرح في العالم العربي، وقد أسس مسرح "سبب"، وقدم أعمالا لاقت حضورا واسعا في أبرز المهرجانات والمسارح الدولية، واشتهر بإعادة تقديم النصوص الكلاسيكية برؤية معاصرة تمزج بين التراث والأسئلة الراهنة، ليصبح أحد أهم الأصوات المسرحية العربية على الساحة العالمية.
وتأتي هذه الورشة تأكيدا لدور مهرجان القاهرة الدولى للمسرح التجريبي في دعم التدريب المسرحي، وتعزيز التبادل المعرفي، وترسيخ ثقافة التجريب.

The Cairo International Festival for Experimental Theatre (CIFET), chaired by Professor Dr. Sameh Mahran, continues to unveil the training program for its 33rd edition, announcing the opening of applications for the “From Text to Actor” workshop, led by the renowned Kuwaiti playwright and director Sulayman Al-Bassam, one of the Arab world’s leading contemporary theatre practitioners. The workshop comes as part of the festival’s commitment to providing training opportunities that combine theory and practice while opening new creative horizons for theatre professionals.
The three-day workshop focuses on the relationship between playwriting and directing as a unified creative process in contemporary theatre-making. Drawing on Al-Bassam’s extensive experience in reinterpreting classical texts for contemporary contexts, the workshop explores how a written text is transformed from the page into a living theatrical performance through image, rhythm, and the actor’s performance.
Participants will engage with a range of practical topics, including text analysis, theatrical adaptation, actor direction, ensemble rhythm, and approaches to transforming classical texts into contemporary performances capable of engaging culturally diverse audiences.
The workshop also highlights one of the defining characteristics of Al-Bassam’s artistic practice: his collaboration with actors from different nationalities, cultures, and linguistic backgrounds, and his ability to transform diversity into a creative force that shapes a shared theatrical language and enriches the aesthetic experience of performance.
Combining practical lectures with hands-on exercises, the workshop offers participants direct insight into Al-Bassam’s creative methodology, enabling them to explore his approach to integrating writing and directing and transforming dramatic texts into fully realized theatrical performances.
The workshop is designed for professional playwrights, directors, and actors, as well as theatre practitioners seeking to further develop their creative skills in writing and directing. Participation is limited to 15 trainees, ensuring a highly interactive and intensive learning experience.
Sulayman Al-Bassam is one of the Arab world’s most distinguished playwrights and theatre directors. He is the founder of Sabab Theatre and has presented acclaimed productions at leading international festivals and theatres worldwide. He is particularly recognized for his contemporary reinterpretations of classical texts, blending cultural heritage with pressing contemporary questions, making him one of the most influential Arab voices on the international theatre scene.
The workshop forms part of the training program of the 33rd Cairo International Festival for Experimental Theatre, which continues to host distinguished Egyptian, Arab, and international artists and experts, reaffirming its commitment to theatre training, cultural exchange, and the promotion of experimentation in the performing arts.
